his Hungarian-born Canadian artist’s talent in logos, icons, and illustration embodies a graphic approach which is both simple and edgy, with a rich palette, and adaptable to a range of advertising and marketing visual requirements for such as food and beverage, CD covers, corporate identity, sports, and institutional and trade promotions. Bote has degrees from the University of Calgary, and Alberta College of Art and Design where he graduated with distinction from its Visual Communications program. Adventures include a mid-Eighties stint in Tokyo teaching executives and studying woodblock printing with a Japanese master, and earlier, several months’ travel throughout Latin America. He taught school in Calgary. Assignments include corporate identity and logo development for Philip Morris, Nike, VISA and Tory’s Bank of Toronto. His icon designs are featured in LOGO6 published by GRAPHIS, New York. Bote is a fine art painter whose work is showcased in Herringer Kiss Gallery, Calgary. When he’s away from the studio, Bote enjoys hiking in the Banff/Lake Louise area and seeing foreign films.
